Red silk faille, covered
with hand sequined georgette and lined in white kid leather. Inside
the right shoe is a silver embossed cloth label, reading "Innes Shoe Co.,
Los Angeles, Hollywood, Pasadena." The shoes are distinctively
darker - a rich burgundy color, than the other known pairs of ruby slippers.
Inscribed inside the shoes is simply "Judy Garland." |

| Bows: |
The bows are perfect and
are missing no stones. The actual number of rhinestones &
bugle beads are unknown. The bow itself is cut out of strap leather,
1/8" thick and dyed red. |

The soles are painted
red. There are rubber caps on each heel that are painted red. |
| Where in the movie? |
According to the book
TRSoOz, author Rhys Thomas believes that this pair of shoes may have been
used for static and close-up shots. However, due to the orange felt
on the bottom, this would mean they were not used in the extreme close-up
shots. |
| Where did they come from? |
This pair of shoes were
purchased quietly by Michael Shaw from Kent Warner in 1970 for $2500.00 -
which has to be the sale of the century! Mr Shaw has allowed these shoes
to be seen at various venues around the country over the years. They
have not found a permanent home in the public eye, however, they are very
much loved, respected and honored by their owner, Michael Shaw and are made
available for viewing from time to time. |
